LAWROC (Land and Water Resources Otway Catchment) is a landcare group that was formed to improve catchment health in the Otways but more importantly to ensure no further degradation takes place as a result of over exploitation of water resources.
Our Principal Purpose
LAWROC Landcare Group Inc. principal purpose is to monitor any changes, within and adjacent to, the Gellibrand River catchment, that may affect the water volume and quality, in the river and aquifers, for the community.
What a difference people can make in a community!
Our LAWROC members have spoken up, turned up to help and supported each other to protect the river system we hold so dear. We continue to question the decision makers asking the difficult questions and advocating for a sustainable water management plan for our Otway Catchments.
It is always good to remember why LAWROC was formed and the journey of the past years. LAWROC’s persistence shows the impact a small community can have in its pursuit for answers and the demand for change.
Welcome
Welcome to the new LAWROC website!
“The river is a metaphor for life in its entirety with its calm times, its turbulence, its way around obstacles, its erosive powers, its suppllying nutrients to the land.. From its birth in rains on the mountains to eventually re-uniting with the source of that rain.” – Peter Sands
